The A*Midex Foundation supports the launch of 8 new projects in the Mediterranean as part of the UMIFRE 2020 action "Collaboration Aix-Marseille, IRMC and CRFJ en Méditerranée".
The action is designed to encourage and support the development of collaborations between teams at the Aix-Marseille University site and two Joint Units of French Research Institutes Abroad (UMIFRE) in the Mediterranean, the French Research Center in Jerusalem (CRFJ ) and the Research Institute on Contemporary Maghreb (IRMC ) in Tunis. The themes of the projects are religious issues, archaeology, societies undergoing reshaping and environmental issues.
The A*Midex steering committee, which met on 8 March 2021, approved 8 projects for a total budget of €74,570. These projects, financed by A*Midex between €5,000 and €15,000, will have a maximum duration of 18 months, and will be carried out in 2021-2022.
