The European Commission today announced the list of the 37 ERC Synergy projects selected this year under the European Research Framework Programme Horizon, including two projects with winners of the site

Two of them have the participation of researchers from the site:

  • Fabrice BARTOLOMEI, PU-PH, Professor at the Institute of Systems Neurosciences (INS, UMR AMU-INSERM), is involved in the GALVANI project "Controlling epileptic brain networks with computationally optimized weak electric fields".
  • Frank SCHNORRER, researcher at the Institut de Biologie du Développement de Marseille (IBDM, UMR AMU-CNRS), already an ERC winner, is involved in the StuDySARCOMERE project "Structure and Cellular Dynamics of the Sarcomere".

ERC Synergy grants calls are awarded to groups of two to four "principal investigators", selected on the same criteria as individual ERCs, who "bring together complementary skills, knowledge and resources in a single research project". This financing can amount to up to €10 million per project, over a period of up to six years. France is involved in 11 projects, and has 20 Principal Investigators.
