Psychological control in the field of sport: film-debate on the film "Slalom" by Charlène Favier

On Friday, October 15, 2021, the Faculty of Sports Sciences will welcome Charlène FAVIER, director, for a special screening of her film Slalom for the students of the Faculty.

Recently released in cinemas and selected for the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2020, this film deals with the theme of psychological control in the sports world.
Charlène Favier wanted to break the law of silence. Her superb film, inspired by her own story, tells how the heroine, Lyz, a 15-year-old passionate skier, falls under the absolute control of her coach.

The screening of the film is offered to faculty students as part of their sport education. It will be followed by a speech by Mrs. Isabelle Régner, Vice-President of Aix-Marseille University for Equality between Women and Men and the Fight against Discrimination, and Mrs. Peggy Roussel, Lecturer at the Faculty of Sports Sciences. This will be followed by a debate with students and staff, in the presence of two former high-level sportswomen and, of course, the director. This event has a training objective: to collectively address the issues of control and submission, fundamental questions in the training of future professionals who are our students.
The session will take place behind closed doors in compliance with health measures.
