The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Canceropole joins the Cité de l'Innovation et des Savoirs Aix-Marseille (CISAM) project

DIRCOM-CP-CANCEROPOLE-CISAM

Aix-Marseille University (AMU) welcomes the Canceropole within the CISAM to contribute to the dynamics deployed within an entire ecosystem for innovation and the development of research in the region.

This merger will provide a qualitative addition to the panel of organizations already in place, and thus give the Cité de l'Innovation et des Savoirs Aix-Marseille additional expertise. Indeed, the CISAM project is intended to be a public/private collaborative space in the fields of innovation and aims to become the territory's one-stop shop for industry with all the players in innovation and public research.

This partnership was created at the same time as the CISAM+ project, championed by Aix-Marseille University (AMU) and its partners in the A*Midex university foundation, was awarded €40 million by the French National Research Agency in the "ExcellencEs" call for projects under PIA 4. The CISAM model will be deployed (starting in September 2022) in seven university branches around three main themes, including health technologies.

As a regional coordination structure for cancer research, the Canceropôle defines itself as "the regional driving force for cancer research and innovation". By integrating the CISAM partners' cluster, the objective is clearly defined: to improve synergies, increase visibility by jointly organizing events, better coordinate support and optimize academic/industrial collaborations in order to provide optimum support to research teams and projects with high development potential in the SOUTH region.

"The Cité de l'Innovation et des Savoirs Aix-Marseille is a unique space in our region, with major ambitions that the Canceropole fully supports. Ambitions
tenfold with the new CISAM+ project. We are therefore very happy to join this stimulating ecosystem and to be part of the Canceropole's dynamic. We will be contributing our expertise in cancer research and our know-how in terms of support for development.
Clara Ducord, Director of the Canceropôle Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

"The arrival of the Canceropôle Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur at the Cité de l'Innovation et des Savoirs Aix Marseille reinforces an existing dynamic with this ecosystem player. Its expertise in the field of cancer research and its know-how in terms of
Its expertise in the field of cancer and its know-how in terms of support for the development of research will provide a strong complementarity with the other structures already present in the AMU area.
Charlie Barla, Director of CISAM, AMU.
