For the first time, the symphonic and jazz orchestras of Aix-Marseille University and the Pierre Barbizet Conservatory meet to play and celebrate the great Duke Ellington together! The orchestras, made up of students and staff from the university as well as students from the conservatory, will be conducted by Jean-Philippe Dambreville, director of the Darius Milhaud conservatory in Aix, and Romain Morello, who directs the jazz class at the Marseille conservatory. A beautiful gathering of the musical forces of the territory for a clever mix of genres in the service of the music of great jazzmen: Ellington, and Mingus (first part).
