Following the call for expressions of interest prior to the deployment of the network of
network of the Ministry of Public Transformation and Civil Service, the Institute of Public
Management and Territorial Governance (IMPGT) of Aix-Marseille University was selected among the 74
selected among the 74 "Talent Preparatory Schools" that will open in September 2021.
The IMPGT is the only public management training and research unit in France and has been developing research and training activities for future and current public managers for 25 years. From September 2021, 50 young people will be able to follow the preparatory class for public service talent in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence: IMPGT +. In addition to a Master's-level diploma course including a compulsory internship, they will benefit from intensive courses to help them succeed in the various competitive examinations for the state and local civil service and civil security.
In addition, there will be a reinforced tutoring by civil servants and senior civil servants, as well as financial aid with a €4,000 grant and reserved places for these external competitions (between 10 and 15% of places). The students will be selected on the basis of resources and merit, on the basis of a file and an interview taking into account the candidate's background, aptitudes, motivation and potential.
This structuring mechanism of the Public Service Talent Plan, announced by the President of the Republic on February 22 and supported by the Ministry of Transformation and the Civil Service, has a dual objective: to fight against self-censorship in the face of competitive examinations and to diversify the senior civil service by identifying, guiding and supporting talent. The application and registration procedures will be published very soon on the IMPGT website: https: //impgt.univ-amu.fr
