Christophe Mirmand, Prefect of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Prefect of the Bouches-du-Rhône, has decided to adapt the measures designed to limit the spread of Covid-19 in the Bouches-du-Rhône.
With an incidence rate (i.e. the number of new people tested positive for Covid-19 over the last 7 days, in relation to the number of inhabitants of the department) of 171, the virus is still actively circulating in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. In view of the evolution of the situation, which remains worrying, and in consultation with Philippe de Mester, Director of the Regional Health Agency and Emmanuel Barbe, Prefect of Police of the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Prefect has decided to :
- Make the wearing of masks compulsory in public areas, from 06:00 to 02:00 in the morning, in urbanised or built-up areas* of the department for people aged eleven or over.
- This obligation to wear a mask does not apply:
- persons in a handicapped situation who are in possession of a medical certificate justifying this exemption and who implement health measures to prevent the spread of the virus;
- to persons practising an outdoor sporting activity;
- users of two wheels.
The Prefect of the Bouches-du-Rhône and the PACA region also announced the banning of student parties in higher education. In addition, changing rooms in public sports establishments are now closed, except in swimming pools.
These measures are applicable until 1 October 2020 inclusive, and will be re-evaluated according to the evolution of the health situation, the prefect said.
