Aix-Marseille University at the World Conservation Congress - IUCN

The World Conservation Congress, organised by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), is a great opportunity for Aix-Marseille Université, an international and interdisciplinary university, to present its research activities and training in biodiversity

Socially committed to environmental and human policies, AMU
reaffirms its approach by participating in this international political and scientific event.

In 2020, the creation of the Climate Council by Aix-Marseille Université testifies to its desire to fight against global warming. It will therefore have a stand in the "climate change" area and will be showing short films made by researchers.
In the forum, numerous scientific talks will present the avenues of reflection and work in progress and, in the Generation Nature area, academics will explain to the public the stakes and importance of protecting biodiversity.

Aix-Marseille Université is setting up daily actions around biodiversity:

- many courses offer AMU students courses on the challenges of sustainable development, regardless of their course of study
- a "student commitment, sustainable development" bonus is offered to all students who wish to act, train or reflect on the challenges of sustainable development
- sharing actions with the green barter "flowers for bees" following the creation of the "APIS AMU" association
- actions in the management of its green spaces by choosing to plant only Mediterranean, non-invasive and water-efficient species
- recreational and educational development actions through the creation of a botanical garden in collaboration with AMU students
- a reflection on the implementation of a science approach "Around the preservation of biodiversity within its campuses (Biodiv'AMU)".
