Aix-Marseille University signs the Grenoble Agreement

DIRCOM-CP-Accord de Grenoble210622

As an extension of its membership in the UVED (Virtual University of Environment and Sustainable Development), Aix-Marseille University approved the Grenoble Agreement at its Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

It thus confirms its desire to be a "socially responsible" university. The Grenoble Accord, created by the Grenoble-based Cop 2 student association*, aims to accelerate the ecological transition in France's higher education institutions with 11 objectives around sustainable development, but also around health and quality of life on campus.

Aix-Marseille University has thus invested in the COP2 for students with the objective of issuing recommendations and proposals on the major issues facing our society. The AMU working group, composed of 9 students and 7 teacher-researchers, presented 13 proposals on different themes: "Education, training for ecological issues", "Work: insertion, jobs of today and tomorrow" and "Building the campus, energy transition and environmental protection".

About COP2*

The Student COP2 is the continuation of COP1, an association created by a group of students from Grenoble. It was held on April 10 and 11, 2021 with the objective of pushing ESR institutions to commit to the ecological transition by creating an Agreement, similar to the Paris Agreement resulting from COP21. COP2 Student therefore proposed to student ambassadors to create working groups within their institution to draft this document.
