The third Sustainable Development Goals (SDO) Summer School will take place from 6 to 10 July 2020. Co-organized by IRD, Aix-Marseille University and AFD, it will welcome more than a hundred auditors in Marseille. This new edition will focus on SDO 10 on reducing inequalities between and within countries and its interactions with the themes: Environment, Health, Sustainable Cities and Territories, Gender, Migration and Education.
High-level training to meet the sustainable development challenges adopted by the United Nations
In the face of the immense economic, social and environmental challenges that characterize the state of the planet at the beginning of the 21st century, the scientific and academic communities of the North and South have a specific role to play in contributing to global advances in knowledge and in promoting research that is useful for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The originality of this very high level Summer School, both for the speakers and the participants from the North and the South, is to address jointly scientists (researchers, teacher-researchers, heads of units, doctoral students, post-doctoral students...) and actors in the implementation of SDOs (decision-makers, managers of local, national and international institutions, ministries, NGOs, companies...) mobilized to contribute to the achievement of the Agenda 2030 for the benefit of future generations.
We are looking for experts ready to put their knowledge and know-how at the service of an innovative pedagogical approach, to support the work of the school's 110 auditors. Participate in this new dynamic, at the heart of our societal concerns.
The admission of experts shall be subject to selection by a scientific committee. Applications must be submitted to eodd2020@ird.fr by 15 January 2020 at the latest.
The result of the appeal will be known on 5 February 2020.
