AMU commitments

Engagements amu

Since its creation in 2012, Aix Marseille University has been committed to an approach that promotes innovation, pedagogical quality and taking into account students' opinions on their training. This commitment has led to the creation of the CIPE (Centre for Pedagogical Innovation and Evaluation) and then, at the start of the 2013 academic year, to the implementation of a system of trainings and teachings evaluation by students (EFEE), piloted by the OVE.

AMU commitments

After four years of operation, AMU wishes to improve the efficiency of the EFEE system by working both for:

  • a better appropriation of results by teachers and teaching teams,
  • regular feedbacks to students on survey results and resulting action plans.

These commitments are transcribed in the "EFEE Guide 2018 / 2022".

PrinciplesDownload
1/ To improve the quality of all AMU trainings
  1. The EFEE system adapts to the specificities of each training course.
  2. In order to support teachers in the appropriation of the EFEE system, awareness-raising workshops are organized every year.
  3. A recurrent EFEE system is set up each academic year within the framework of a roadmap voted in CFVU.
  4. The training system and the teachings of each diploma are evaluated at least twice during the establishment contract with the support of the OVE and CIPE.

2 / To inform beforehand about the EFEE system
  1. The teachers are informed of the implementation of an evaluation concerning their teaching(s).
  2. The pedagogical teams are informed of the implementation of an evaluation of the training targeting the mention or the standard course or the teachings.
  3. Students are informed of the implementation of an EF and/or EE evaluation in their training.

3 / To ensure confidentiality
  1. The EFEE system in place guarantees the anonymity of the students responding to the evaluation surveys.
  2. The reports of the teaching evaluation results shall be sent only to the teachers who were evaluated. In the case of an UE evaluation, the EE results are transmitted to all teachers within the UE. The EE results cannot be forwarded to the head of the training without explicit agreement of the teachers involved in this teaching. In the case of training courses undergoing a certification process, derogatory provisions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  3. The head of the training and the UE speakers shall respect the principle of confidentiality of the teaching evaluation results.

4 / To encourage dialogue within the training courses by involving the students
  1. All teachers working in an evaluated UE are recipients of the UE results report at the end of the campaign.
  2. The pedagogical teams of the sectors involved in the training evaluation are recipients of the dynamic overviews (web-report) made available to their component.
  3. The EF synthesis indicators are established for AMU and for the component and made available in the framework of infographics.
  4. At the end of each EFEE campaign, students are given a summary of EF results for their training course and are informed of adjustments and improvements brought to their training course.
